“Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’ Jeremiah 31:10

BIG NEWS!!!
Some very good news! We have purchased the ministry truck! We even received a donation yesterday that covered a good portion of the repairs and extra cost incurred to get it and get it running. God is so good! In just two weeks it has been used to take chairs for a funeral that Travis conducted, to loan to a missionary family whose car was broken down, to transport workers and church members around the island and to enable Travis to start back the seminary training of locals. It is going to continue to be so useful here! We cannot express just how thankful we are for everyone who has prayed and donated to make this possible. We feel very blessed!
Can you say "HEAT WAVE!". September was the hottest month we have experienced so far! We have been increasingly looking forward to rainy season coming. There were several days we thought we really might melt! We do not use the air conditioning as the electricity is so exorbitantly expensive. If you multiply your bill by 5 you will be in the ballpark of the electricity costs here.
The kids are busy (with mom) with homeschool and lots of volunteer opportunities on the island. We helped the Samuel Raymond Christian School for a week while their teacher was out of town. This is a small bilingual school serving some very poor kids who are being truly blessed to receive such a great education. We got to help them with reading, math, science and Spanish. On the last day we got to go with them to a lunch at Bojangles (one of only three fast food joints on the island!) for a special reward that they had earned. It was a joy to get to know these children and I am sure we will go back to help at other times.
NON PROFIT STATUS: We have our initial non-profit status as of September 11th, 2013! Now we are able to receive tax deductible donations for ministry projects according to the IRS 501-C3 guidelines. We pray this will encourage more people to give for the many needy causes we are able to help with here on the island. Travis waded through an awful lot of paperwork to make this possible. We thank the Lord that it all went through very quickly! All receipts will be emailed at the end of the month for donations given this year from Sept. 11 and on.
Tish has been counseling more people at Ms.Peggy's clinic and people around the island are hearing about her abilities. She has been called in for some emergency cases involving desperate people. God always shows up and is so faithful in these times. It is a joy to get to tell others of His love for them and to help them move closer to Him.
Please also pray for our dear friends Bob & Lynne Millsaps. Bob had major surgery and is experiencing complications. Please pray for healing and strength for him and Lynne.
We thank God for each of you and appreciate your prayers and support! May God bless you richly!
En Cristo,
Travis, Tish, Ella, Zachary, Heather and Eli
