Isaiah 61:2 “To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;...
3 To console those who mourn in Zion; To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;"

FEATURE HIGHLIGHT:
We praise God for the opportunity to get to know Keith Brooks, an islander in his late 40's. He was sent to us from a friend of ours in the Flowers Bay islander community. His house which he shared with his daughter burned down in February from a short circuit and sadly his six month old grandbaby died in the fire. Travis started working and praying with him over the next few weeks and he has rededicated his life to Christ. He didn't have a bible he could read due to poor eyesight and we were able to buy him a new giant print bible. We also have gone to work on his house to make it livable again. Wood was replaced and we spray painted all remaining affected wood with Kilz to seal in the odor from the fire. See pics above. Our two other elders in the church, Dee Haisten and John Neighbors are assisting with this project and we just delivered and started installation of the sheetrock. We hope to have it complete in a week or two and ready for the family to move back in.

Tish Ministry Update

Tish continues working with the Sandy Bay Children's Home and recently got to arrange to have a free excursion to a small resort island for all 19 kids and staff during Semana Santa which is like their Spring Break. It was a fun filled time and they were able to see exotic animals, swim in a secure beach and kayak. She is also doing behavioral therapy with three of the children now and is seeing more people for counseling one day a week. The ladies' bible study has been continuing to meet on Tuesdays and is currently enjoying Karen Ehman's study called Let It Go.
Homeschool will be wrapping up for the summer soon and she is excited to have the break! We were blessed to have another family to school with and Mrs. Karin Neighbors did a great job teaching math and science classes- what a huge help!
The kids and Tish are excited about being in Knoxville starting May 17 through June 14. We are always excited to get to attend our home church. We have lots of clothes shopping to do as all of the kids have grown so much! (A mom's nightmare with 2 pre-teens and 2 teens!) We are also looking forward to some good old Tennessee cooking! Travis will be in Knoxville for May 24-June 7 and will be leading a 110 member 1 day mission team just after arriving back on Roatan.

Sharing Christ to conquer the gates of Hell
A cruise ship worker was shot and killed in a drug infested part of the island and really caused everyone to take a hard look at the crime that has been happening. There are some racial tensions between the islanders, Hondurans and gringos that we are praying will be addressed. Most crime is petty theft every now and then, but especially in bad areas, the worst can happen. One week from the shooting, on Palm Sunday, Travis was asked to lead a vigil of islanders, Hondurans and gringos for the man who lost his life. The area of the vigil where he was shot was in front of a brothel and across the street from a crackhouse. The prostitutes and crackheads listened as Travis shared about the hope in Jesus and the choice we all need to make. He shared that the crowd on Palm Sunday was offered a choice between the way of Jesus and the way of the world. Their Hosannahs (Save Us) were wanting a worldly savior to keep them from the Romans. Later on they would confirm their desire by choosing Barabbas (the insurrectionist murderer) over Jesus. (The murderer of the cruise worker just so happened to be named Barabbas). All of us need to choose between the way of Jesus and the way of Barabbas (the way of the World). One way leads to joy and freedom and the other to slavery and destruction. join us as we pray for these centers of Satan's work to be conquered through Christ.

Kids
Zachary came in 3rd place among 80 runners in the local 5k on West Bay Beach. We are so proud of him and his hard work in training! All that in 90+ degree heat! Heather had a recent art show and sold postcards of her work. She is becoming quite the artist. Eli got some dive equipment for his birthday and we are looking forward to diving together soon. He has been enjoying tennis and is really improving. Ella continues to amaze us in her musical skills and is learning the guitar and excelling as our worship leader at church. New Friends
We met the Vanzee's who were in Roatan for about 8 weeks and are worship leaders in the states. They helped us with worship and did a wonderful job. They are planning on moving down in May and assisting with worship at R Church. They have five children and are looking to serve the Lord in Roatan in a variety of ways. Eric and Misty Frazier came down to help in many areas in Roatan and are also making plans to move down here and begin full time ministry. Please pray for these sweet families as they make preparations.

Available for Sharing in Knoxville Area in May and June
Let us know of any opportunities while we are in Knoxville or that area to share with other churches or groups about family missions, what the Lord is doing on Roatan and how they can partner with us. We are needing good churches and individuals to stand with us in this effort to make Him known through word and deed. All gifts and offerings are 100% tax deductible. We would welcome your prayers and support for some of the many projects and overwhelming needs here.

MISSIONS COFFEE
We have fresh coffee in the states and are bringing more in May. When you order missions coffee- you are helping support a real family with very real needs. The women who work to roast and package the coffee are able to put food on their tables. Proceeds from sales were recently used to help send a person to a Christian drug rehab center on the mainland. Other proceeds were used to help a man with sepsis get the antibiotics he needed after an infection from a surgery.
You can order online by clicking here!

Please pray!
We praise God for our faithful prayer warriors and generous supporters! You know who you are! Please pray for regular support from churches and individuals to Roatan Mission. So much more can be accomplished with additional monthly resources. God says you don't have because you don't ask , so we are asking Him and letting our team of supporters know how they can pray for us as well.
We are also praying and looking for large giving partners that would like to see a biblical ministry and training center established in Roatan. People from all over the world come here to work, live and visit. We see this as a tremendous opportunity to not only reach Honduras but also the nations for Christ. We are free to discuss the specifics with all those interested in partnering with us.

We thank God for each of you and appreciate your prayers and support! May God bless you richly!
En Cristo,

Travis, Tish, Ella, Zachary, Heather and Eli
