First of all, thank you very much for all the continued prayers for our family and the ministry here. We are told of many people that have our picture up in their home and in their school that helps remind them to pray for us. We certainly feel those prayers and are grateful to the Lord for many examples in our trip here and getting settled where we have seen His faithfulness time and again.

We feel like we are finally getting settled in on the island and getting into a routine. The kids started school the Monday that we arrived and it has been quite a whirlwind with the move, getting settled in a new house, and all the little things of moving to a new country. Travis came down with three kidney stones at the beginning of our second week. He flew to San Pedro Sula (the capital) after God put us in direct contact with the best doctor in the country for that. When he got the CT scan, all the stones had just disappeared! Praise God!!! Also, while he was there, one of our friends at the church helped us to buy our new car (4 wheel drive Honda Pilot) so it worked out wonderfully! On the mainland, the Honduran mountains look a lot like Tennessee and even have the fog around the top like the Smokies. The rest of the land is very flat and doesn't have the rolling hills. On the island, almost everything is rolling hills so it doesn't feel like we left in many ways.

TIsh has worked tirelessly on unpacking, getting uniforms finalized, school projects and making our house into a home. She is starting back this week at Greenfield Orphanage helping and teaching their pre-schoolers who we worked with during the summer.

The kids are at Esbir which is a private bilingual school. Spanish class is the hardest subject for them of course but they are picking it up quickly. The other subjects are very easy for them (thanks to Paideia Academy in Knoxville) so that allows them to focus on Spanish.

I started teaching that first Wednesday night at the church and have continued that since our arrival. We are going through 2nd Kings currently. The boys and I helped clear land and start the foundation for a new house in La Colonia. We are hoping to have the house finished before rainy season (December and January). The family's current house is in a dangerous mud slide area.

Yesterday, September 15th was the Honduras Independence day complete with parades (the kids marched with their school) and even fireworks at night. Pictures to come soon!

Prayer requests: Please pray for us to finish the new house, for continued growth in the church, for our family to  continue to get settled and for our Spanglish to be Spanish quicker. ;)
